FAQ
Will my fans have to re-subscribe?
Yes, once. Patreon can't port an active subscription to a different processor — nobody can. We send a one-screen migration template you paste into a post on your existing Patreon, pointing fans at your new KeepTier page. Typical retention in migrations like this (Substack → Ghost, Memberful → Patreon) is 60–75% in week one and climbs as lapsed fans come back.
What about Discord roles?
On a successful Stripe payment we hit the Discord API with the supporter's role ID in ~1s. Same for Telegram invite links if that's where your community is. You set the role once in KeepTier settings; webhook wiring is done for you.
Can I keep my Patreon page running in parallel?
Yes. We don't touch your Patreon account. Some creators run both for 60 days, watch the numbers, and shut Patreon down once the migration has settled. The calculator tells you what that's worth in dollars.
What about Patreon's "web-only" path — isn't that enough?
It dodges Apple's 30% iOS cut, but Patreon's own 8% fee still applies and the email list is still not yours. The recovery is real, the implementation is one settings toggle, and for a lot of creators it's the right first move. Long-form on what web-only does and doesn't fix: Patreon web-only subscriptions, explained.
What if Apple changes the rule again?
The rule change is public and scheduled — Apple requires iOS apps with digital subscriptions (including Patreon) to sell through Apple's IAP, which takes 30%, starting November 1, 2026. Web pages don't go through IAP. A web page will still be a web page even if Apple revises the percentage up or down. Long-form breakdown: The Patreon Apple tax, explained.
How does this compare to Substack / Memberful / Ko-fi?
Substack takes 10%; Memberful Pro is $25/mo plus 4.9%; Ko-fi Gold is $8/mo flat for memberships; Buy Me a Coffee takes 5%; Gumroad takes 10% flat. KeepTier is $9/mo flat with no percentage take. On $4,200/mo with 60% iOS the gap from worst (Patreon iOS-mixed) to best (KeepTier) is about $13,000/yr. Full eight-platform ledger with worked receipts: Patreon alternatives in 2026.
What's the lock-in?
Month-to-month. If you cancel, your page redirects to a final-page template for 30 days so your subscribers see the handoff, then it comes down. You keep your Stripe account, your Discord, your email list, your domain. We never had a claim on any of it.
Who's behind this?
One developer, building in public on X as @bitinvestigator. The calculator and the migration playbook are the whole product until November 1. After that, we ship whatever the first 10 paying creators ask for.
