Patreon payout in 2026: when you get paid, how much, and what fees apply

Patreon does not pay creators immediately when a patron subscribes. All cleared charges from the prior month batch into a single transfer initiated in the first week of the following month. This page covers the exact schedule, fees by method, and how long it takes to reach your bank.

Payout schedule

Patreon collects all patron charges that cleared during the calendar month and initiates a single payout transfer between the 1st and 7th of the following month. A patron who subscribes on May 3 funds a charge credited to your May balance; you receive that money in early June.

Patreon payout timeline · May example

May patron charges clear (throughout the month) Balance credited daily
Patreon initiates payout ~June 1–7
US ACH bank deposit received ~June 3–10
International wire received ~June 8–17

Maximum wait: May 1 charge → mid-June receipt up to 47 days

Payout fees by method

The platform fee (5–12%) and Stripe processing (2.9% + $0.30) are deducted from each patron charge before it reaches your balance. The payout transfer itself has its own fee depending on the method.

Transfer method fees

US ACH direct deposit Free
International bank wire Flat fee per payout
PayPal (supported regions) PayPal fees apply
Fast payout (early release) Additional % fee

The flat wire fee is particularly impactful for lower-earning international creators. A creator earning $200/mo in a wire-only region pays the same flat fee as one earning $2,000/mo — the fee represents a higher effective percentage at lower revenue.

How to speed up your Patreon payout

The only built-in mechanism for faster access to funds is the fast payout option, which lets you request an early release of cleared earnings before the standard cycle. It carries an additional processing fee. Outside of that, standard Stripe ACH timing applies and cannot be shortened.

An alternative: platforms like KeepTier that run on Stripe Connect directly do not batch monthly — patron charges flow through on Stripe's rolling two-day payout cycle without a monthly holdback layer.

November 2026 iOS change

Starting November 1, 2026, new Patreon iOS subscriptions route through Apple's IAP system. Apple deducts its 30% fee, then pays Patreon on Apple's schedule (typically monthly, with a 30–45 day delay). Only then does the revenue appear in your Patreon balance. iOS subscriber income may take 30–75 days from the original charge to reach your bank. Web-billed subscribers are unaffected.
